Castor Oil (Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil)
This oil is extracted from castor seeds. The oil is thick and acts as a humectant. It also has anti-bacterial properties. Castor oil with a fatty acid profile, of 85-95% ricinoleaic acid creates a moisturizing and lathering property to soap.
Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera)
Coconut oil is extruded from the "meat" of the coconut fruit. Long used by Island peoples as a cleansing oil and skin care product. The high anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties of the coconut make it perfect for that purpose. In soap making it high lauric acid content help to make a hard nourishing soap with a bubbly lather.
Colloidal Oats - ( Avena Sativa Kernel Flour)
Colloidal oats are finely ground oats. In soap and cosmetics is used as a temporary skin protectant that can relieve itchy skin
Glycerin
Goat Milk - Whole goat milk, vitamin D3, folic acid
As the name suggests it is milk from goats. Ours has added vitamin D3 and folic acid. Goat Milk has naturally occurring fats and nutrients that are good for skin conditioning. With it's lactic acid content it can help remove dead skin cells. Many folks with skin issues such as psoriasis and eczema have long claimed that goat milk products work wonders for them.
Olive Oil ( Olea Europaea Oil )
Olive oil is extracted from the fruit of the olive tree. Olive oil is revered for it's gentle cleansing and moisturizing properties. Olive oil is rich in Vitamins A and E.
Palm (RSPO) Oil (Elaeis guineensis)
We use responsibly sourced kosher palm oil. In soap it provides a hard bar with a long shelf life and great lather. Palm oil is high in Vitamin E and antioxidants.
Sodium Hydroxide (lye)
Sodium hydroxide is an alkaline substance the is required to make soap. We use a kosher food grade Sodium Hydroxide. (Did you know pretzel makers use sodium hydroxide?) Not to worry though after the soap has been made and properly cured no actual sodium hydroxide is present in the soap.
Titanium Dioxide ( Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891) )
Titanium Dioxide is an FDA approved colorant for cosmetics. It is a naturally occurring mineral that is mined and purified. Titanium Dioxide is used in a variety of products, such as sunscreen, toothpaste and cosmetics. In soap and cosmetics it is used primarily to add color to the product.
Distilled Water - Agua
Distilled water is water that has undergone the distillation process to remove minerals and impurities. Distillation in simple terms is boiling the liquid collecting the steam, cooling the steam and collection the condensation.
